Grain & Grace
Why Nothing Captures Emotion Like 35mm Film.

My love for film started years ago, skateboarding with friends and trying to capture that raw energy. Even now, after years of shooting weddings, I keep coming back to film. It has a soul that digital just can’t mimic.

When I pick up a film camera, my whole rhythm changes. Without a screen to check, I’m not looking at a version of your wedding; I’m looking right at you, waiting for the moment. Every shot has to count.

To tell the full story of your day, I bring along four different film cameras,

each with its own "job":

  • The "Life of the Party" Camera: I love finding your loudest, most extroverted friend and handing them a premium point-and-shoot. I ask them to capture the wedding from the inside out. These are often the most joyful, candid images of the collection—your best friends, through the eyes of a best friend.

  • The Quiet Moments: I keep one camera dedicated solely to black-and-white film. It’s my favourite way to strip away the noise and focus entirely on the emotion and the elegance of the quiet moments.

  • The Classic Look: My final two cameras are loaded with Kodak Portra 400. It’s a legendary film known for those soft, creamy pastels and gorgeous skin tones. To me, this is what a wedding feels like—romantic, airy, and timeless.

I’ve spent the last two years making film a major focus of my work because I’m so personally moved by the results. I offer this as an add-on to every couple because I want you to have those tangible, nostalgic memories that only a roll of film can truly deliver.
